Wrap Up v Richmond

We had to out coach them or out work them. Woosha is incapable of the former and our boys didn’t do the latter.

Gave our forwards no chance tonight - both the coaches who stubbornly refused to even up the numbers and the players who kicked it straight to the Richmond defenders (50% of our entries - with their defenders taking 25 marks in our forward line. Dominated the hit-outs and clearances, but gave it straight back to their defenders.

I think Dimma hates us with a passion because we gave Knights the job. He loves embarrassing us.

we should just forfeit our next game against them

Outcoached for sure. They set up a great zone to pick off our new game plan. We got caught chipping it sideways out of defence cause the zone so the ball just kept rebounding.

They can’t make up the weight/strength differential just through higher workrate

Absolutely ruined by the umpires.

Would we have been beaten? Possibly, especially after losing Zaharakis early. But when the umpires take any semblance of opportunity away from you, and give the opposition freedom to do whatever the f**k they like then it’s tough to keep getting off the floor.

Disgusting.

  1. Trade Hurley (Could get two good picks in a great draft).

  2. Goddard needs to retire at the end of the season.

  3. Langford is really improving and his kicking is immense.

  4. Guelfi is a beast. Looks like Jane, plays like Tarzan.

  5. Stringer actually played really well in the midfield tonight.

  6. Worsfold is not the coach to lead us to our next Premiership.

  7. BRING REDMAN IN!!!

I’m sick of this hopeless team

Big part of it.

So many issues.

  1. I don’t know what the idea behind letting Richmond have 2 extra men down back. If it’s to give us more men at the contest, it wasn’t working.
  2. We have Hurley and Hooker who can clunk a mark but why were they not setup to do that.
  3. Went backwards in putting blocks for each other.
  4. Lot of dumb decision making by players.

FFS, we were well in it until the “Hurley out muscles Martin incident”

This sh*t takes every piece of confidence out of entire teams.

Were we outplayed. Yes. With 180 degrees opposite umpiring we’d have been in front at that time. The effort was there.

This really did ruin it in terms of momentum. But we should have fought back

There wasn’t (IMO) a huge talent differential. But their structures were so much better and their intensity as well. Leaving them free players across our lines of attack all night was just dumb. You didn’t see them doing that once.

Hurley was terrible, Goddard is just too slow.

Every time we raised our game they’d pay a free.

And then let them play the old “one hold Bellchambers down, the other take the mark” game.

Over and over until we were broken.

The umpiring was absurd. That free against Hurley was one of the worst frees ive seen. I just knew when the game was in the balance the umpires would ■■■■ the bed.

Well done.
