prince, fukken. goodness me. greatest song of all time.
How Come You Donât Call Me Anymore? - just came up in my mix.
So many B-sides that should have been on albums instead of other content.
apologies for the bump! but I was browsing through the movies on Stan this afternoon, and stumbled across Purple Rain. As a movie, yeah, itâs less than perfect, but â â â â he is a talented musician. That bit of his fatherâs song during Computer Blue⌠goosebumps!
I watched it for the first time last weekendâŚit wasnât the greatest movie Iâve seen, but the music more than made up for that.
(I also learned that the album came from the movie and not the other way around)
So then I played the album for the first time in agesâŚIâd forgotten how good it isâŚa superb collection of songs.
Not the greatest?
It is just a step above bloody average.
Calm down CJâŚas a platform for his music, it was goodâŚespecially if, like me, you consider that his best album.
Awards for storyline, acting etcâŚhighly unlikelyâŚbut I wasnât expecting any masterpiece.
l well realize that the movie is little more than a platform for the music. I wasnât expecting a masterpiece either, and that was what we got.
Big props to the cat that mentionted Eye Hate U
One of the most deeply sad songs ever written is There is Lonely. From the same album iirc.
Next time you feel sad and want some solidarity, go put it on.
