It’s supposed to be fun.
The costumes and choreography are intended to stimulate areas of the cerebral cortex responsible for memory and nostalgia, while the chronologically progressive style of the format encourages feelings of anticipation, and the juxtaposition of three young white Australian girls in a small car performing acts which would normally be performed by very different people in a very different setting creates a sense of the absurd.
