Turning a speculative second/third rounder into a young player guaranteed to be at least a role filler, with a lot more upside, is something we've failed to do for a while. Probably 20 odd years. Hawthorn and Sydney excelled at identifying young under-priced talent (Gunston, Gibson, Kennedy, McGlynn, Mumford), we need to do it.
