Born in Napier Street Essendon. My dad was born and bred there. He grew up sneaking into Windy Hill to watch Coleman and Hutchison. Dad says the best Essendon footballer he ever saw was Hutchison. So, although we left Essendon when I was 9 months old, it’s in my blood. Best player I ever saw was James Hird. Best day of my life……. Grand Final Day 1984…… Worst Day …. My birthday party in, I think, 1972 at Victoria Park. All my friends were Collingwood supporters (I lived in Eltham, Collingwood recruitment zone) mum took me a friends, mum was a Collingwood supporter. Went to th Big Barn for lunch then to th game. Collingwood kicked over 30 goals, while we kicked very few. THEN, after the game mum got us into the rooms……… THE COLLINGWOOD ROOMS.
