i have no issues with these sorts of catchphrases or mottos if there is complete buy in. I actuallu quite liked the idea that we were (purposefully or accidetally) trying to hold ourselves accountable to a very simply theme and style of play.
But once the higher ups show contempt or disinterest in that theme, it quickly crumbles.

It also crumbles quickly when the entire competition realises you just needed to wait for our inevitable turnover and/or aimless entry into F50 and you could run the ball the length of the field with very little pressureā¦
If āedgeā was designed to describe us as a footballing entity it was a total failure.
If it was intended to describe us as a club overall it would also be embarrassingly wrongā¦ there is no edge in anything we do. We are a fully acquiescent entity which bends over and touches its toes at any available opportunity.
The only thing āEdge-likeā about us is in drawing a parallel between us and U2ā¦ a once great entity that hasnāt done anything decent in 20-plus years and is now a complete irrelevance which spends its time re-living its glory days.

He tries hard and most of the time is quite good. Just hasnāt become the player we wanted. And his ācorporate speakā (crap) that he comes up with just puts everyone offā¦ā¦one of those school captain types that nobody actually likesā¦.
