I love Megadeth. I love the first four Metallica albums, but Megadeth is, exactly as you put it, such a fun band. RIP was the first album I bought with my own money. I have a Megadeth mix permanently in my car. My 8 yo son loves them too. Set the World Afire, is our favourite.

Every album in my collection will have one or two tracks that I absolutely love(d). So I’m starting with a pool of many hundred tracks, and adding to that the songs that I love that I never bought on album, and there are many many of those too. Now editing it down is almost impossible

yeah as a popular concept they’ve taken a bit of a hit, but the same thing was probably said about radio, mtv, ipods, etc
the songs/artists of today that are big on streaming services will be largely forgotten in 20 years. artists with good albums from today will endure.
just look through this thread at all the 80s/90s albums posted that weren’t by any means widespread commercial successes. pearl jam’s ten has been checked off in here a few times, and it wasn’t even in the top 50 selling albums in australia in 1991
