My bigger concern is that he’s got no wrong foot. That’s a real problem for the position he plays.

most Essendon players can only kick on their dominant foot which makes them so predictable and causes them to turn back into trouble

Has some very bad defensive habits that he has to overcome if he wants to keep playing. Slow jogging not accountable. Maybe he had done a lot of running before, but was trailing his man during opposition kicks. Could go down the wrong path very quickly.
7 tackles, so can’t have been all bad.
Has had 13 in his previous 9 matches this year. I think he’s one of a few who’s labouring. But got amongst it today.

Led us for both tackles and pressure acts today.
I’m sure he’s still building back fitness ATM too.

Absolutely. He will hopefully build fitness over the next few weeks and set him up for a good pre season.
He’ll be borderline flying by Feb.
Calling it now. He’s not going to make it. He’s definitely not a small forward. Maybe he’s an undersized mid… which we need like a hole in the head.
He needs to get his hands on the footy to develop, he’ll only do that in the VFL, but that’s not going to happen at essington.

In a side that scores under 40 points, you can’t really blame the smallest bloke on the ground for not getting it much.

Zero tackles today. For a small forward that’s criminal. Huss by no means had a great game but 7 tackles. Getting dropped after the North game really lit a fire under his arse and he’s been putting in defensively. Kako probably needs similar treatment. Bring Nguyen in.

Sorry milla, I just don’t see it. He just isn’t competitive enough for mine.
Kako looked very promising in 2025. Not so in 2026.
At least he is following the standard Essendon anti development program.
