#10 Isaac Kako

Hard to argue with that as an isolated statement, but it totally overlooks what Walla had to do to even get there at all.
He didn’t start at top level in his teens.

I mean, we’ve only had Tippa, Raz and Alywn Davey Snr as small forwards of any sort of repute since Bewick, so it’s not a huge call.

And he only asked “could he be?”, not “he will be”.

Tippa was wonderful.
Like Leon Baker and Graham Moss simply didn’t play enough games. 133, 86, 87.
A pity. All should have become club legends.
I’d have any of them again!!

Becoming the best small forward at the club since Bewick is a fair challenge issued to Kako given the number of years since Bewick played and that no one since Bewick has risen to any acceptable standard. And how desperately we’ve needed one.

Who does GCS have to play on KAKO ?

The first rule of media is that if we ask we are wrong

He seems like a very smart footballer.

You were cutting Walla’s lunch?

Walla was better than Bewick. But he did not sustain it.

It’s hardly a controversial statement.

It’s amusing that others are quicker than you at assessing talent?

I suspect this is just a wee bit of bait- but on no measure was Walla a better player than Bewick except for defensive pressure where Walla was at his peak, absolutely elite.

Bewick was exquisite by hand and foot, could cover the ground as a midfielder/wing, was a better kick for goal and won finals of his own boot for us.

Bewick of course did it for far longer, had much higher production and was a clutch, big-game player.

Walla was also an incredible player and at his absolute peak performance was up there with Bewick’s top end - but he did not sustain those very high spikes in his performance.

It’s not but I don’t agree with it

It is not bait, Tippas best was better.
Not by much. In no way was Bewick a better kick for goal.

But Bewick beats Walla by a mile over the entirety of their careers.

I think their records speak for themselves and there is not much contested space in the comparison. Walla was a great kick for goal indeed, which shows how good Bewick was who was even better!

You are correct their records speak for themselves.
Walla went at 67% at goal.
Bewick at 56%.

Bewick was a beautiful kick of the ball. And it is totally reasonable for you to believe his best overall was better than Tippa, whilst I would disagree. But no argument could ever stand up that he was a better kick for goal than Tippa.

Ok, I can concede that Walla was a better kick at goal.
