They probably wanted to stay home and watch the premier of Dance Boss.
Theyāre also doing the player a disservice. Heās executed the perfect bump. Does exactly the same thing next time (no head contact) and the MRO could argue in favour of suspension as a second offence. Weak and not very smart from the EFC.
They chuck 2g on the tab for Francisā off-season and skip the paper work of a fine.
The attention raised from the bump was good enough, they got ridiculed for being idiots. Itās not a big deal. Weāre storing up our ammunition for next year.
Plus poor little Clarko wasnāt happy with the free kicks.
Crikey, we must have some ammo stored up from the last couple of years.
Prob didnt contest because hes leaving at years end.
This club is storing ammunition for next year?
The same club that just rolls over to the AFL time after time?
What ammunition are we storing? For when we get on a bit of run and then the umpires get a hold of us?
TRADE
Teachers pet until seasons end and we wonāt be 2nd last in free kicks next year.
Imagine if a Essendon player did what hodge did bump them head first into a goal post, would be more than 2 weeks.
The Twitter responses are gold. Keane hung himself right out there to be pilloried.
And shame on EFC for their acquiescence.
Iām more annoyed about this than I should be.
The death of the bump has just happened whilst being overshadowed by the Gaff circus,
Or Hodge lining Hep up and just because Hodge had ball no penalty even though Hep knocked out and unable to play game further
The fact that weāre not challenging is farking disappointing.
Itās more than disappointing, itās farking weak.
Whoever at the club decides whether we appeal these decisions or not has had the same operation as my dogs.
Carnt has no balls!
With almost 80k members we should have heard something from the club by now about why we rolled over. The silence just reeks of we didnāt want to upset the AFL.
and?
It completely unacceptable, but completely expected.
Jake Carlisleās views are ringing very true.
why?
Ok Iāll bite.
Firstly the decision not to challenge the decision is poor based on the evidence available to th public. General consensus is that the fine is completely out of order.
Secondly in this day and age of communication and engagement with fans and members the complete silence on why the fine was accepted is also very poor. If there was a reason for accepting it that the fans donāt know about them let us know. Not doing so in corporate speak is horrible stakeholder management. Without this sort of transparency how can you expect fans to continue to handover cash as members.
