#10 St Francis de Agressi - up to 2021 round 2

I am elite in being cooked :joy:.

Will take that

definitely

Between Aaron and Conor there are going to be a lot breathtaking passes coming out of defense, plenty of hearts in mouths too I’m predicting.

The vision and class this guy shows by foot is a real weapon.

Could have clunked a few if it wasn’t for the defensive non-specialists of Hurley and Hartley spoiling him all night.

Looks fitter as well which is a positive sign.

Looked a class above last night - He’s set for a good season.

How was the 50 odd metre pass in the last?

Quality content from foxfooty, was exposed apparently.

“ Missing Cale Hooker (DEF | $421,500) , intercept defender Aaron Francis (DEF | $350,900) was forced into a more accountable role, and were exposed - as a player who was expected to be a decent mid-priced defensive option, his requirement to ‘play tall’ against the Cats wasn’t encouraging from a SuperCoach owner’s perspective.”

Hurley,Hooker and this kid in the one back line is mouth watering.

Then throw in Saad and McKenna’s rebound. Wow.

Missed the game, how did he look?

Looked a class above in the first half against a barrage of I50’s.

He’s a jet.

Growing into his role, starting to find his place.

It’s accurate.
Certainly from a Supercoach perspective, but also more broadly. He’s not going to prowl the backline and get a billion intercept marks if he’s in a lockdown role.
Hooker being out hurts his game, and Hurley’s game, and ultimately Essendon’s game.

Exposed in as much as he’s not a CHB, yet, and may be forced to play that role until Hooker gets back.

The exposed with an accountable role was what I took issue with, of course the more accountable players will score less and whether he scores well doesn’t matter to me haha

It matters to me, because we’d be a better team if he was allowed to do what he does best, in a role that quite a few other teams have.
If he’s not doing that and our opponents have pretty good players that are, well…

I don’t think it’s a comment on Francis’s ability at all, simply Essendon’s current circumstances.

Yes, i get annoyed when players can’t play their natural game. And i get more annoyed when people say they’re not great when they’re being played out of position. It’s necessary sometimes but not a good reflection of the player.

What’s he like pinch-hitting forward? Until Daniher finds form, a tall rotation of Brown, String, Francis, through fwd, mid and back in the early part of the season, might not be the worst thing in the world?

Yes, i am panicking a little after JLT 1 and 2

Can fwd thats for sure. But again his best position is as an interceptor. Agree with everything Wim said above. He will forced to play a more accountable role in the absence of Hooker.

If playing ambrosr or Hartley means that Francis can play looser then I’d almost be happy with Ambrose or Hartley being in the team.

Francis and Ridley is a very classy combo to have across HB
