Less turnovers is significant and less time on ball then last year which helps because midfield time is scaled down relative to forward time in the new ratings.
My niece’s middle name. Seems more of a girls name, but who am I to judge.
I got you by 4 months and mentioned him in April last year ![]()
A lot of Blitz shut me down, arguing he wasn’t much better than Guelfi and Snelling ![]()
I’m just glad he kinda keeps the Lovett/Carlisle/Francis train going. We were in danger of that finally fizzing out.
David Myers would be so proud.
Ummm…. Duzza should be on this list…
He would be on there if I made the list but it’s more a sen problem
Whats the scope of this? From last season? Round 1?
My geuss is end of last season to round 7
Average player rating for 2023 compared to average player rating for 2024.
How do people come up with this ■■■■?
Champion Data AlgorithmTM go brrrrr.
“Hey Champion Data algorithm: draw me a picture of Godzilla in an Essendon jumper throwing cucumbers at the West Coast Eagles.”
What do you expect from “Champ” data!
I have no idea how that makes sense. Hes been fine. He hasnt been that much better than he was at the saints. This is a truly bizzare stat
Is it really that bizarre? He was ranked at 222. He’s now 33. Pretty simple.
As a point of comparison, on the same list Goldstein is the 2nd worst drop in ranking in the league.
My guess is we’re comparing a forward’s stats when he’s been moved from a mid/forward role to a more forward role this year.
And with Goldstein, they’re comparing a solo ruck stats with a dual ruck stats.
I also think Redman probably isn’t as terrible as they’re making out, he’s just had all his stats taken by Martin, who we need to move forward, to let Redman ‘find form’.
What I do take from all this is that Gresham is a better forward than a mid, and we have enough good mids already. We really don’t need to add him to that area.
Those champion data stats are based on expected output for the position you play. So it isn’t saying he is a higher ranked player toe to toe with midfielder X. It’s saying, for his position, based on expected output for his position, he is the 33rd ranked performer.
That algorithm is built basically like a handicap is built.
