I don’t think there’s any other fan base in the AFL more delusional than ■■■■ Carlton supporters. They all think they’re going to win the flag after round 1; which is laughable when you consider the fact that their golden boy captain has never even played in a single fucken final; yet we’re supposed to take their opinions with peril? FFS.
Some people expect every young player to be Joel Selwood 2.0; it just doesn’t work that way - blokes like that are rare.
Bare in mind that we paid a future fourth rounder for this gem and he’s been really influential and positive for our team so far.
No idea, maybe they thought Stringer could play that role…? I dont know. I liked having him and Stringer together at centre bounces though, for once we didnt look so small.
This is such a ridiculous post after one of our best players all year plays a decent game on a 4 day break against the reigning premiers. Pull your head in, bruz.
The coaches need to apologise to Setterfield and the supporters in the way they used Setterfield today. As mentioned above it took some time to use him in his best role.
He’s had a very solid season and no doubt still learning about his team mates, his role and even just playing at the highest level. Some blitzers need to step back and calm down.
I didn’t pay full attention to the game, so happy to be corrected but I got the feeling that it was unbalanced with Stringer and Setters at centre bounces. The fact is Shiel and Parish are ones of the very best centre clearances, so I reckon we should always have only one of Stringer or Setters at centre bounces. At general stoppages, we should have them both.
In the 1st quarter Danger had 4 CBAs for 3 centre clearances. In the following 3 quarters he had 20 CBAs for 2 centre clearances. Setterfield played him really well.
Tend to agree, but playing 2 x BBM should be in the mix regularly. We are blessed with choice & depending on the mid field scenario, we should use them tactically
After quarter time we won the centre clearances 16 - 10, I didnt think it looked unbalanced, especially with a couple of Merrett/Shiel/Hobbs coming up to the midfield from half forward as soon as the the ball was bounced.
To my eye at the ground he didn’t get a huge amount of centre time in the first quarter, in fact at one stage he was on the wing! Seemed very perplexing coaching to me.
the fact scott started stringer on him, and not setterfield was mind boggling imo aftrr the job setters did on oliver for the most part. Danger destroyed us in the first quarter
