Would love an injury update from the club…
You should put it in your letter to Santa.
Dear Santa
Is Nik Cox an injury and if so are 86 stitches sufficient to close the wound?

I’ve been a good boy too
Where does the big Cox play next year???
Do we keep him on the wing?? Or move him around??
Performance Update on the website indicated toe soreness! He will be running again this week. Precautionary management.
I assume we keep him on the wing, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we move him around a little due to his limited tank. Maybe we might slot him forward at times?
Limited tank?
He probably would’ve won the time trial the other day if he were able to join in
He couldn’t run out the year. I was meaning that more in the sense of being a young guy not season hardened yet, not talking about his general fitness.
I reckon he gets moved around a bit. Might play some forward, a little bit of ruck possibly. I wouldn’t even mind him having a run on the ball.
In a few years I would like to see him playing like Goodes/Goddard/Hird - allowing him to move himself to exploit matchups. He would be a nightmare with that kind of freedom when he is experienced enough to diagnose the weakness.
He’s stated a couple of times that he has aspirations to fill a key position, but given the surplice of players vying for those spots, it’s hard to see him having that goal for filled…
Plays time as 3rd tall to develop forward craft, but continues his time as a midfielder (wing) at this point
Tank and speed over 2km are different things. He did seem to wear out a bit last year.
By the looks of it he’s going to play the Joe Daniher role. “Just a sore toe”…
As was only natural for all the Vic draftees last year. Totally irrelevant to this year (for last year’s draftees). Could happen for this year’s although they had twice as much footy.
That’s a load issue relating to the volume of physical work for a first year player coming off no football in 2020.
Tank refers to aerobic capacity. There’s nothing wrong with his tank. Just needs to add to that frame.
For mine, I think he’ll end up either forward or back, with stints on the wing.

The Nik Cox Role.
I’d like to see him stay on a wing, the match-up problems he will provide the opposition will cause nightmares. He just needs to put a bit more meat on the bones. He can drift forward and take marks, he can go across HB and help out there too. There’s so many options.
Soreness = 1 month injury at Essendon.

Sounds like gout. Get him on the cherry juice.
Don’t you mean pineapple juice?
