#13 Nik Cox - thru 2026 (Part 1)

That was a very scary bump.

He’s flown under the hype radar this pre season.

For me, along with Durham looking to have gone full beast and the thought of Kelly destroying small opposition forwards, Cox is the player I’m most excited about next year with a big pre season under his belt.

And if option B comes with a premiership or two?

We’re going to see him kick multiple goals from the goal line after outworking his opponent aren’t we?

I’m ready.

I wish I was as happy about the 7kg’s that I put on over the break!

Just go for stroll and randomly tackle a Kollingwood supporter.
You’ll feel a lot better.

No time to be cute with pulling together a resilient, competitive top 4 team capable of winning finals. The list has a lot of promising young talent. Just play Cox, Hobbs etc

As long as he is fit and healthy, he should play every game. The kid is going to be a superstar

Next year (2023) maybe Cox will be that consistently damaging player. I guess that’s what you are saying?
But expectations this year need to be tempered. The guy has had what we could probably call now a badly interrupted pre-season. Even this week, he wasn’t joining in full training.

He was just on 9 news - says he’s gained around 12-13kgs since he started.

So he’s up to 70kg now?

About that!

(He said he’d started at 84kgs and is now 96 almost 97kgs).

That’s a good weight. He may not need much more weight if he’s going to keep playing wing

Jeezus.
That makes him heavier than Baldwin Jones & Francis.
Only our rucks & Stewart weigh more.
Which certainly opens some possibilities for where he might be used. And stop people panicking if he fills in in the ruck. Where he could cause some real problems for your average opposition 2nd stringer.

if he has chucked that much on in one season, that to me is possibly a little concerning. We have seen countless times where sudden gains leads to things like stress fractures and things like that. from training reports he seems like he has missed a few sessions - if so i think it is right to be cautious with him.

him putting on size was needed though

Didn’t he still blitz the 2km ?

Oh man just imagine how damaging our forward line would be then

He might push forward more this season with that weight behind him

Coxy could be a spare parts player.

And that’s probably what we need when your trying to find a premiership side
