Yeah mate. Youve thrown a mix of endurance and explosive into the same mix. Hes endurance and ■■■■■ on Jamarra for that for example
I guess it’s hard to know for sure.
I do remember his first game I was right on the wing, watching him all game.
He covered so much ground effortlessly that night, just didn’t stop running. He was actually getting to contests back then, too, so he wasn’t just running aimlessly.
Cox has regressed since early 2021. guess he has been Essingtonised.
Jamarra actually beat Cox at the yo-yo test at the draft combine with 21.3, so there’s that….
He’s a well rounded athlete.
He’s an athlete but not much of a footballer.
Being massively hard on a second year player here.
Total drivel.
Jamarra actually did better than Cox in the endurance test
Thanks for your input.
We’re allowed to have a conversation about his athletic attributes. Christ.
I’m saying he should be utilised in a position whereby he can actually show his footballing nous. He didn’t play wing predominately as a junior.
Blicavs was pretty meh for his first 20-30 games. Definitely showed some signs which meant Geelong persisted through that.
But since it all clicked, he hasn’t really looked back.
Cox will be an absolute weapon. Yes we need to pay attention to how we develop him but thats about all there is to discuss.
I think he could use a spell in the two’s to find some form and confidence.
He clearly has enormous potential but we have to work how to harness it and how to develop him physically.
His physical development probably determines where he ultimately leads on the field. Clearly he needs to add a lot of size to hold down a kp
I do think we could be using him a bit smarter than we are right now. I’d probably give him a wing role with a focus on getting back to shield the defence
I’d stick him at FF and see how he goes.
Tall and agile enough to be a thorn in the oppositions side. Can take a good mark.

Can take a good mark.
Can he though?
With an actual opponent? And one who would be of similar size?
I’m not against giving anything a go with him at this point. Key forward, key back, try it and see but I just wouldn’t be super confident right now.
It’s taken Nick Blakey (another who is tall, lean & athletic) a few positional changes before settling into half back flank.
I like this position for Cox too.

Can he though?

No.
Clubs have worked out that he’s soft.
I was at the Geelong game last year and it definitely looked to me that the cats were getting stuck into him off the ball.
whatever they’ve done to him, they need to undo it.
they’ve put weight on him, which was always the worry, cos all the attributes that were impressive cos of his height, diminish the bigger he gets.
and then everything gets harder cos ultimately he is a 200cm player trying to play a position they are not suited too.
that highlights package, if it was from a 6’2 player you would barely bat an eye lid.
but cos a 200cm “winger” did it, it’s like wow how awesome is he.
