Edwards in and the only change.

I hope they play Nik in the vfl. Dumb to hold him over with no footy after such a long time out of the game. We will surely do that though.

Delist

I’d wait until the end of the season for that decision Belle

Have too, they better delist him though he isnt AFL standard

Played forward in the VFL today and was good. Forward is his position.

He was good today but I don’t think he has the tricks nor the strength overhead to be a forward.

He’s either a winger or he isn’t an AFL footballer for mine.

Nothing against Cox but I don’t understand why they are trying to turn him into a forward when we have Archer May, McMahon, Edwards and Jones.

A bit will depend on the type of forward you want him to be. A “link up” that gets a lot of positions in the middle and even back half of the ground doesn’t need to be as big/strong as one that does most of their work in the F50.

You’ve just described a modern winger. I think that is his position

If he is going to be a forward then we would be making some cuts at the end of the year. Can’t have all of the below

wright, Langford, caddy, cox, jones, Edwards, may, McMahon, and that doesn’t include rucks who rest forward.

I’d say, Edwards, Mcmahan, Jones, cox are similar in that they are not necessarily contested marking players but can run and find space. So two of those in my opinion would be at risk to go at the end of the year for list balance

But we don’t play him there

How many have asked for Cox to be played forward. with his endurance could run key backs off their legs, paired with Caddy.

From VFL
With Jones and Clarke ruled out early, Nik Cox was thrown forward and created a very difficult matchup for the Dogs’ defence - he slotted two of his own, set up multiple scores and took five marks for an improved display in a relatively makeshift role given the circumstances.

I hope this kid can get his act together as I think with the new ruck rules he could be an awesome second ruck (a bit like Mac Andrews at the Suns), providing we persist with Wright as first choice

Where is he at? Watching him at VFL I’ve been quietly impressed with his games and I can see an AFL player there but I’m sure I read somewhere on here that he’s not very committed to the caper and is happy to just collect a paycheck and then at the end of the year get out of AFL. What I see when he plays VFL doesn’t correlate with someone who doesn’t give a fark and will be happy to be delisted at year’s end. So I ask again if anyone knows…where is his head at and does he want to continue playing footy at the highest level?

Only he can answer that. He has come back from an extremely serious head injury, and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he is considering the future.
