#13 - Nik Cox - thru 2026 (Part 2)

Every team has a whipping boy, so they say. We have many. Honestly, how many do we have? McGrath, Shiel, Cox, Perkins, Jones, Menzie, Redman… a few other honourable mentions, too.

Nik Cox is back in full contact training

Good to see him back. Worse case scenario he boosts the VFL side.

Adding : ADJ, Parish, Tsatas, Hobbs, Gresham, McKay, Laverde, Draper, Goldstein, Setterfield, Wright & Prior.

That’s about 50% of the list…

This is great news for Niks long term health and hopefully long term career in football, buuuut… I just genuinely can’t believe how little muscle this guy has managed to put on in 5 years as a professional footballer where your entire diet and training plan is done for you. Things like this or Stringer being overweight always blows my mind.

Two things

  1. Holy ■■■■ he has some tools
  2. I’m not saying he’s now The Incredible Hulk but to suggest he hasn’t put on SIGNIFICANT size since Year 1 is ludicrous

If Cox playing AFL bring you joy then our team is in for a lot of pain. He will not make it. He was no good before all this concussion stuff and he definitely won’t be after it.

Cox would benefit from a stroke of luck.

Would Cox take Jones’ spot? I’d actually prefer it. (But prefer neither more hah)
