Damage to the hammy after missing a week.
Hopefully he’s been serious about his S & C work while away from the club.
Well I’ll be damned, maybe there is such a thing as ‘awareness’.
Give him the week off, play it safe
I rate Coxy… just growing as a player, typical tall just taking time to mature.
Yeah I doubt he plays
Let’s just hope he doesn’t do the dreaded training injury now.
or worse, the contract extension injury…
This is the way…get him ready for FarkCarlton
Came back to say that Cox has already played more games than Gumbleton.
He’s 22.
Gumbleton missed the entirety of his second, third, and fifth year.
And then played 13 more games in his career.
Find another comparison, because that one is Really dumb.
Cox is gonna be awesome.
I thought we had a beautiful mix of Duursma and Cox on the wings each, with the other inside mids in the midfield. Cox might not be dominating but fair to say he’s come a long way from the start of the year and made good progress overall.
Great news it’s nothing major. Also great that Nik felt something and straightaway went “nup, better get checked” rather than playing on and risking it.
Reid is more like Gumby.
I still don’t know what Cox’s best position will be.
I don’t Like the Reid comparison to Gumby, but it makes a hell of a lot more sense than a guy that’s already played more games.
If you were going to pick a current player, though, then yes, it would be Reid.
Edit: on the other point, we didn’t know Langford’s best position until he was 26…
Wow. Been a huge source of pressure and plenty of good moments. We saw how pathetic our pressure was last weekend and losing Cox contributed to that.
Wing.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see him moved from the wing after five very good years…
Edit: having said that, the way kids are growing these days, maybe he won’t be such a unicorn in five years…
He’ll be a small mid, and we’ll need fo find a bog bodied mid again
Confirmed.
Cox is making the switch to baseball.
After 5years, I think a HB flank, more confidence more build. Intercept marking, impacting contests . I see him evolving like a Harris Andrews who’s 202cm
He’ll be switched around depending on how things go.
In order of priority, I see him being played as a wing, defender (against medium talls like Bailey Frisch or 3rd talls like Jeremy Finlayson) then maybe some forward line later in his career.
I think he’s definitely better behind the ball, than forward of the ball, as a tall wing he can exploit mismatches and I think his running capacity is a huge point of difference when played in the backline especially if we want to deploy a more aggressive forward press than we have now.
Obviously…
He has to be available to get on the field to develop further.
Otherwise, he’s just a Kepler Bradley of the 2020s.
