#13 Nik Cox - thru 2026

Yup he will become a special player, give him 2 more preseasons to build his tank and gain muscle and his will be better prepared to hold his ground in contests

Lol, not from what Iā€™ve been told but okay.

Earlier, Perkins and Cox played in positions suited to their craft. perkins hf and cox wing.
When I view these players in the backline, I ask myself, What are the ā– ā– ā– ā–  are they doing there?
When I see them not attacking the ball like they did earlier in their career, I wonder why we bothered.
Yeah, injuries come to players. I believe players always have some type of niggle. But when they are selected, and on game day, you either play or ā– ā– ā– ā–  off elsewhere. There are plenty of others who can take their spot.

Kane Cornes has a point.

Cox isnā€™t soft or weak or any other silly comment like that. Heā€™s just might be more susceptible to concussions than most so much so that perhaps he doesnā€™t belong in a contact sport. I donā€™t really know what the fuss was about.

Who knows? He may have been hit in exactly the wrong spot. Hopefully itā€™s just a one off and not an accurate reflection of Nicā€™s capacity to take contact.

Because he got concussed once in his career? You donā€™t need to have your head king hit in order to be concussed. Cornes is just talking clickbait inflammatory ā– ā– ā– ā–  as usual.

No, not because he got concussed once.

Because he got concussed with what looked like minimal contact.

belief is in short supply at the efc.

massimo is a great example of what happens when there is real belief in the locker room.

would not surprise at all to see cox improve out of sight elsewhere.

Cox(and Reid) I think both certainly will play out their contracts.

There wont be any enquiries for their services from other clubs.

At present both are talls that might come good.

Id rather be trying to find out with them than starting yet again.

In the past - Scotts said hes made development a focus of his tenure.

So perhaps as a go forward thats meant to change.

His fist got cannoned into his head. Id like to see how that would have impacted Cornes. Maybe he can volunteer himself for testing?

Yes
But not on the backline

We care about Coxā€™s development, but weā€™ll play him wherever there is a hole in the side.

ā€˜His fist cannoned into his headā€™ suggests that thereā€™s more in it than it would seem. Doesnā€™t look too damaging for mine.

As I hinted at, it might have been a stray knuckle to the centre of the temple which would knock anyone out. Or maybe Nik is too easily concussed. I donā€™t think your stance or anything youā€™ve said is unreasonable. Same with Cornes.

If he was too easily concussed, why hasnā€™t it happened before in his career?

Itā€™s hardly the first contest heā€™s ever been near.

Itā€™s ridiculous to speculate this off one incident.

Kid needs to be locked in a gym and developed as a forward thatā€™s heā€™s strength

It was an unusual incident and one heā€™s not likely to find himself in again in his career regardless.
Writing him off because of this concussion is. . . . Well, odd to say the least.
