On draft night, Robey pick went. I was stoked. Next up Taylor … but then I just had a mixed reaction to it & said no ■■■■ it please pick Sharp. Glad he wasn’t picked up in between
Wet weather footy, his kicking decent. @noobermensch I’d say his kicking is a bit better than Dunkley? Thoughts?
We now have a sharp Essendon edge.
I recon he is going to be the steal of the draft.
He is just so impressive in his higihlights.
Super hard at the ball and man, and already has a big body for a modern midfielder.
The more I watch of him the more I genuinely think he might be the best player from this draft. He probably won’t be the most dynamic but I just think he is going to be the anchor of a midfield for many years to come.
The very first highlight here he delays the handball to make the opponent commit to him so he can release the handball to an open player and accepts the contact. So many of our players just flick the handball to the outside instantly to avoid contact
I liked Pommyinoz’s analogy…he will be the darkness that makes the stars around him shine brighter!! I mean how poetic is that??!!!
We don’t have any stars around him, that’s the problem.
Yes we do - Robey and Farrow!
The best game I’ve watched in all the sharp videos on YouTube is the one at night v the Essendon jumper team called the bloods. It’s a colts game.
It was a strong game for him, but the camera work in that one was shocking.
This is fantastic news! He missed out on the combine due to illness, and a supposed lack of outside game was the “big knock”, so coming out the gate in the 2km is massive.
He’s always been an ok runner so not sure why he was being labeled as a tortoise by some
it’s almost as is if there was a misinformation campaign around him. i’ve seen his kicking, speed and tank all heavily criticized at various times, all look at least respectable to above average to me.
am i right in thinking he didn’t attend the combine.
bomber fan right.
i do wonder if some of this was a strategic attempt to get to us.
mostly i suspect we were very fortunate that the SA boys finished their campaign so early (unusually early even) and then the gold fish media just totally forgot how dominant they were and got fixated on the new shinny thing.
The call of Farrow over Taylor is an interesting one. Gonna be interesting watching those two in their respective careers.
gut feel is farrow suits our needs better, bit more polish and composure and the list is slightly over stocked for tall/mediums at the moment IMO.
He was at the combine, but ended up having to go to the hospital the night before testing due to illness.
my tin foil hat is tingling. ![]()
I think Farrow’s got the easiest run to a best 22 spot next year, purely on player type and their respective strengths.
Robey probably trickiest.
Hope they all get plenty of opportunities.
