I was never a fan of his as a forward and would have been happy previously for him to be delisted.

His kicking was on point yesterday too, you can see that his confidence is building every week. Our backline is looking in very very good shape for the future.
Long term, with Stewart and Reid coming into the back six, I think Laverde will end up taking a similar position to Broad at Richmond as the versatile shutdown player
Who wouldβve thought opposition midfielders are better at kicking it to Lav than EFC mids?

Agreed about the kicking. There was a LOT to like about his game yesterday, but his field kicking was excellent. It seemed like almost every kick he had was marked by one of his teammates.
I was seriously worried with no Francis and no ridley. Best game for the club by a mile.
I would have happily farewelled him a year or two ago but the shift down back has changed him as a player. Does his job superbly and has done far better on bigger opponents than I thought capable.
His kicking yesterday was spot on too. Also making better decisions.
Just a totally different player.

Iβm not that surprised with what heβs capable of, itβs just disappointing that his body hasnβt held up long enough for him to show it more regularly.
taking this guy away from the fwd line where his lack of composure kicking for goal has cost us multiple games was a master stroke
absolute wall, love that he flies hard for the ball and makes the fwd heβs guarding compete with him instead of the other way round

It was like every other aspect of his game - reliable.
Which is something that hasnβt been said about Lavβs footy to date.
