He has had years to learn that you need to defend . On this front it’s pure laziness on his behalf to not get better . Same with parish

Perkins strikes me as the type of player that would thrive at a club like Geelong with good system and development.

Doubt it, too much hard work.
He would either be a super star at Geelong or spat out of the system
He certainly looks a lot slowler/less agile these days.
Perkins is a much better overhead mark than stringer

Watching those highlights of Perkins is utterly depressing.
I remember thinking, he’s only going to get bigger, stronger and more powerful.
I hope to God he can find something this year. Maybe he should grow his hair back.

I remember at the time the footy media and the average footy punter was like “gee Essendon look like they’ve nailed the draft, Cox and Perkins look amazing and apparently Reid is supposed to be the best of the lot!”

Is looking absolutely dreadful tonight. Losing hope on him. That rnd 1 performance last year feels like a very long time ago…
The only excuse I can say for him is that he is playing the toughest position on the fround.
That half forward role is so hard to get involved in the game from. Still, he should be doing better.
It’s just his lack of composure going forward, making awful decisions with the ball atm. Hope he can turn it around, he’d want to be better than that.
He looks pretty switched on though, just making a few errors. I wouldn’t be surprised if he came good in the second half.
