#16 “OMG it’s Archie” Perkins (Part 2)

I think the resurgence of Tsatas should fill Archie with confidence. We saw for a small time in early 2024 at his best he’s a goal kicking midfielder, but issues with defence and an injury saw him back on the forward flank.

A body of work in the VFL midfield + what seems to be a coaching mindset change from focusing on what a player can’t do, to what they can do very well, might be career saving

It’s not that he isn’t good enough, as he clearly is.

Just doesn’t have the desire.

His desire is not good enough.

Part time footballer

Got 3 coaches votes in the VFL game. Bring him back

Given the fact Caldwell and Durham are now going through basically the same drop off as Perkins has im starting to think maybe its not all on young Archie.

We are having far too many talented players under Brad that are going backwards that I dont believe its a coincidence.
I dont know what exactly they are being coached but its not working for too many of the younger guys, and its exactly why I want him removed as soon as possible.

a stretch mr temple.
durham and calders especially were good last year

perkins has been garbage for most of the last 100 games
utter hot garbage. doesn’t even have a go. offering little. guys like edwards, kaka, may, nguyen have just gone straight past him in terms of f50 options. Even gresham as much as I hate to say it.

for all of calders and durhams many faults, they do crack the fk in

Perkins has played two decent games in the seconds; he’s coming back in and will stay in for the remainder of the season.

This is just rubbish. He’s struggled defensively throughout but had multiple good seasons as a forward offensively.

He’s never finished top 10 in a b&f. In a crap team, while averaging 20 games per season. He’s never had a good season.

Perkins is too good for the VFL - but not good enough for the AFL. His skillset is fine, but he just doesn’t have the desperation in his character to succeed at the top.

Can we trade him to Sydney and get a third rounder back for that crap Fiorini trade?

he’s been crap for two years
before that he had some good to ok games but also some crap

105 games. 60 goals. 49 total goal assists/score involvements.
man whens the good part? because this is low impact crap for someone with a dream run.

Perkins is the poster boy for the classic Essington player.

For both EFC and the player himself, move him on at the end of the season.

maybe make a package offer of Perkins, Guelfi, Jones, McKay and Gresham in exchange for a couple of 3rd round picks!

Then in 3 years those 3rd rounders will end getting delisted or aren’t good enough
