Perkins is the type of guy you would get overs for in a trade because he was a high pick and when he actually does something it looks elite. A late second rounder you take it and run. Players that aren’t talls don’t just suddenly come good after 100 games, especially off this low of a base.

But you draft top 10 picks to be good. Nailing top 10 picks is crucial. And you need good return from those picks. We aren’t getting it.
People throw around the term “list clogger” pretty regularly here, and for good reason. But perkins is exactly that. Not good, not terrible - just there. Playing.
He is the exact type of player we need to move on from. Just like we did hobbs

I don’t see Perkins as the same as Hobbs, in that he doesn’t skill have the athletic or skill level limitations. In Hobbs’ case, we just didn’t really want the ball in his hands. You can only carry those guys if they’re absolutely elite contest players.
The reality is that every premiership team has 5-10 role players. Some are high picks and some are later picks. They execute a role consistently each week and end up key contributors. If Perkins can keeping doing what he’s done over the last month, he could have a role over the next 5 or so years as our young guys mature. Not the dream outcome for a pick 9, but at least it’s something.
