#17 Todd Goldstein - don’t forget, he’s here forever

He played a very good game today.

If we’re going to have our two first-choice rucks out, and we are to have developing mids run through the team and learn their craft, this is the guy you want giving them silver service.

And to add to that, he’s the bloke you want your Vigo’s and Gerryn’s looking up to

last few minutes. Merrett and Goldy were important.

Have never questioned his effort, but gee I didn’t think he still had that in him.

Great game from the old fella (I say as I realise I’m a year older than him).
Don’t know how he does it, I struggle to get out of bed half the time

Well done Goldy.

He will still be handy against the bigger, older rucks like Grundy, Nank, Gawn etc. the worry is the younger, more agile rucks. TDK will have a field day.

Are the BDB haters who were disgusted he was given another year going to concede

He really likes the smaller confines of Marvel👍

Obviously will be remembered as a North great, but I will always have a soft spot for him for how he’s conducted himself in red and black. Was magnificent today up against Grundy.

At the end of the game he put his arm around Saad and was chatting to him like a coach.

Fantastic player and bloke to have around the club mentoring the younger guys

He’s an elite coach.

Adding myself to the list of naysayers who didn’t think he had games like today in him. Great stuff from Goldy today.

Still think we need another ruckman in the MSD to give Goldy a rest.

He was excellent today. He seems to do a lot better against the pure tap ruckman than against the brutes

Really gave us heaps around the ground too, especially in that last qtr when everyone was out on their feet

Warrior. Just kept chopping in and did better than just hold his ground. Love him. Glad Brad brought him over.

English might be ok for him.

In an interview this week he said after his first game he thought he was going to cramp up during the last 2 minutes and was literally hanging on for the siren, but he said he was particularly tired after playing against Xerri as he plays a very physical game.

You certainly can’t accuse English of playing a physical game but he will run Goldy off the park.

So well said, he’s got an incredible ethic and integrity that is selfless and has surely changed the culture round the club that must be great for our younger players.

Needs his own statue at the G.

He was fantastic last night, and has been an astute pick up for the club.

Soooo, with Draper and Bryant (assuming both still at club) starting slowly next year… is Blitz going into melts when he gets another 1 year extension?

(Assuming we don’t land a hefty trade target requiring to be fed a salary cap lump).

BTW - I’m ok having him as a soft cap avoiding ruck coach.

I’d be amazed if he can keep his body going for another season.
But then I’m amazed he’s still going now.

Maybe I’m just easily amazed.

As a card carrying member of the “play the kids” club I’d be more than fine if he stayed on. Even if not as a player I hope we hold onto him as a ruck coach.

I’d definitely prefer that to another kid or some random middle-aged jobber.
