#18 - Lewis Hayes - now thru 2027

Nah just posing a question? Albeit I’d heard (unconfirmed news) around concerns around Martin’s initial surgery - he was flying and kicking well ahead of schedule so in hindsight do wonder whether greater caution was needed.

Probably not helpful for me to post but pretty down on our club and the state we are in.

Per the club, no surgery and available day 1 of preseason. Huge!

Could it be the start of a period of good news?

Clearly him re-injuring his ACL was terrible news but to hear that he won’t need surgery and will be ready for pre-season training must be quite some relief for him. I’m sure he’d rather be training and playing now but at least he can have the full pre- season to strengthen and get ready for 2027.

Thought that when May was cleared on serious injury after the Richmond game but that didn’t last long

So to be clear there is no ACL tear? Just a strain

He should still be able to do weights and ■■■■ just maybe not so much running etc. Dunno what exactly the legs portion of rehab would be

Second ACL sprain in a year for EFC.

Maddi Gay did hers in the last AFLW practice match last year, and returned in the 8th game of the season.

This is fantastic news.

Sucks that he wont play the rest of the year but missing one seasons instead of almost two is a very very big difference.

The least bad injury news we’ve had for a long time.

Well that’s cheered me up a bit. Happy for him. Hopefully a full pre season. Feel like this kid has something. And we need all the help we can get defensively. Especially with Ridley unfortunately being made of cardboard

Praise be to Hird.

Well 1.5 seasons instead of 2.5. But yes, thats a much better outcome.
