He’s a big unit. Has skills. Much to like.
Super interesting prospect.

Someone remind him not to break Reid today
Reid doesn’t need his help.
I didn’t see the Taylor Walker or Jonathon Brown traits previously, but they sure stand out this time around. His contested marking is fine. As for Blitzers saying he isn’t tall enough for the ruck? Pffft! Ryder was 3cm shorter and became a dominant tap ruck for a decade or so. As a relieving ruck he is going to offer us a better contest than 2MP, he is also more mobile. Pete would still have him covered for long range set shots, but that is about all. Early days l know, but there is a lot to get excited about with his arrival. Go well young Gerreyn.
Andy is great and i rate him. But McCluggage is a far better player, and probably addressed our needs more at the time.
And tank, 2MP can run all day.
Max Gawn
For sure, but us picking him is not his fault.
I dont think anyones suggesting that. He still manages to have some poor games, but i think people over exaggerate when he does. Hes not the typical player who gets chosen at pick 1, so people would have some unfair and lofty expectations for him. The club also set his career back by trying to turn him into a midfielder.
But anyway… KAYLE! I watched another highlight reel on youtube. still blown away by how much pace and agility he has as a big man. A Bryan/Gerreyn ruck combo could be seriously game breaking.
Someone compared Gerryn to Tommy Hawkins.
I will take that.

Someone pass that on to the umps so he gets every iffy free.
It’s Robert Shaw’s…and Dodoro’s.
Wern’t Gws going to pick McGrath was going to be a Heath Shaw replacement?
I wanted Tarranto or McCluagge who were needs but Dodo had to chose the hbf
How is it Robert Shaw’s fault?
He kept pushing him hard over his Brighton Grammar attributes…future captain etc.
The recruiters job is to evaluate the information from coaches and scouts.
Of course their coaches rave about them and want them drafted.
Darren Bewick did the same for Josh Begley…… and I’m sure all the coaches who haven’t played for Essendon have done the same for their players.
Think there was an article published years ago of a rival recruiter saying something along the lines of being surprised that we would pick mcgrath over mccluggage.
Reminds me of Quintin Lynch
