From all reports he is a really decent human.
Can confirm. Was always destined for more than footy
Thanks for sharing, really enjoyed reading that.
My sentiments exactly. Heart warming read.
Any details on how you could support that foundation? What a ripper of a bloke
Pretty amazing person, obviously really down to earth. I loved the story about him on the community camps up north and how he would just disappear and they would find him hanging in someones house getting to know the families.
Also has old friends from Melbourne Grammar, travelled Asia, working in international mentoring, writing articles and living a life to make a difference.
It is great that he used his football ability to open all these doors, and realised football wasn’t the point, but it did a great job of opening doors and opening the world to him, and credit to him for making it all about where he came from and making things better.
Fantastic story, may it have many, many more chapters and volumes.
Well written- an inspiring story. Thanks for sharing. Good on him.
Good human that Shauny!
Shows us all that there is more to life than football!
Would love if the club got involved with his organisation.
Absolutely elite goose-stepper.
After reading that article seems like a bit of a legend as well.
Loved his goal from 70 on the G.
Here’s the website: https://aimementoring.com/
You can make a donation from there or buy one of their hoodies.
Which was more like 55 metres, … but, who measures?
The Umpires would definitely call it 70 though, … judging by what they think 15 metres looks like.
Now that is who you want your kids to look up to. Absolutely brilliant read. An actual role model.
Miss Humble was an AIME mentor while at Sydney Uni for a couple of years. Can vouch for the quality of the organisation and their work.
they make terrific hoodies too, I have a couple.
Some high quality people in the organisation too.
