What a mentality to have.
There’s no doubt he’s played well this season, but you don’t give good offers to people like draper right as they suffer a LTI thar could potentially cripple his career.

2 years with a games trigger for the 3rd would be decent at whatever the going rate is for a very good ruck.

Yep, people wanted to move heaven and earth to keep a guy that has played one full season.
God, imagine if we low balled him and then Hawthorn picks him up. I might just have to give Blitz up.

Bryan’s injury was shocking , Draper injury compounded it.
We’re lucky we have Goldstein.
but everybody has written us off this year already, before those injuries.
i think lots of guys have shown improvement.
but we are still miles off it.
That said. We can still be competitive.
Anzac day is a massive test.
Most likely expect pies to smash us.
But there are still positives.
Wright kicking a bag.
mids been by and large good Merrett, Caldwell, Setterfield, Durham.
Reid in defence. Roberts rising star, Kako makes us a bit more exciting up forward.
Crows game aside we have been competitive.
we should match up on pies better, but there small forwards are a worry.

Confirmed as a ruptured achilles. Timeframe for recovery will be known after surgery next week.

terrible news for the guy.
this is going to be a super interesting next few months as he goes through free agency. If you were in his camp, you would be seriously considering (and prob taking) THE most lucrative offer he is offered.
If you are Essendon, you would be derelict in your duties in giving hims 5-6 year offers on good coin. But you also need to be wary of lowballing a guy who is out injured for the year. Very interested in what that sweet spot is.
