#2 Big Sammy Draper (from May 2024)

no ■■■■■■■ way. like joe daniher is suddenly a coleman medallist at lions

Well…may be an exaggeration… but I don’t think player development is apart of the EFC brand

We should let the saints raid our list every few years just to clear out the chaff.

St Kilda, who rated Laverde highly in his draft year in 2014, had shown strong interest in the exciting and quick half-forward.

It is an important signing for the Bombers, who couldn’t have afforded to lose one of their brightest young talents as they look to rebound from their wooden spoon season.

its probably a bit unfair, but his entier thing as a late junior and vfl was bwing physically bigger than the vfl rucks, or the sanfl 2nd div reserves ruck, he has no football craft, his tapping is ok but as soon as he has to do anything else than that it doesn’t matter how good he tapped it. the afl has moved on from rucks being a key pillar of any good team, you just need someon that can compete, not make stupid decisions on the field and run out 90%+ TOG.

Why would Adelaide want him, they have O’Brien who’s leading the comp in hit outs and Draper is pretty useless forward.

Not a fan.

We won’t get rid of him the marketing team have gone too hard with the bloke.
He has endorsements and a mural so he must be a hell of a player, honestly though I reckon if he didn’t have a mullet no one would have taken any notice of him to start with

I remember some article after the 2020 draft where an anonymous ex-list manager (so, you know, grain of salt) described Nik Cox as someone who could be a good player, but you’d have to keep your foot on his neck. Who knows what he’s like in private, but that’s how Draper comes across to me.

To your point, a primary ruckman just can’t be a “you take the good with the bad” kind of player. A ruckman who can kick goal of the year would be a great thing to have, a potential game breaker who’s going to be at basically every stoppage, and have first opportunity to touch the ball? Yes please. Fantastic. But only if it’s a player who has the capacity to do all the sensible things well and just as importantly understands that the boring thing is almost always the right thing to do. Nobody gives a ■■■■ that you can do something outrageous if it takes ten attempts and three of them result in horrific backfires.

i reckon thats why freo are so desperate to keep sean darcy and luke jackson, jackson can tear a game apart, darcy can keep you relevant for the rest of it

I’m really glad we hitched our wagon to this guy and Goldy and let Bryan rot in the reserves

Fantastic man management

Iam no Bryan fan at all I think he needs some work but he is the type of ruckman we need so badly just a consistent tap ruckman that can link up around the ground, we don’t need this plonker Draper

He does need work, but the only way for him to improve is to be playing footy against the best rucks

Smoothbrains.

One particular blitzer comes to mind…

Please don’t arouse him

No, he’s not. Bryan is a real ruckman. I can’t for the life of me understand why Bryan isn’t getting games ahead of the arseclown Draper.

You’re All wild.
You should All be ashamed.

We got destroyed when Draper was OFF.

And you say Draper sucks.

Smoothbrains.
Morons.

Okay Draper and Bryan.

Draper is good and getting better.
Ohhhhh, but he just smashes it forward…
He gave exquisite delivery the last two weeks.

WTAF are you talking about?
Seriously?
Specifically.
Name the play.
I will wait.

We’re almost at the point of no return with Draper and our list composition.

If Bryan can’t crack the first team and leaves, we are completely and utterly screwed, if we weren’t already.

I have never been fond of Draper, we don’t need a Wildman who is the spiritual off field leader to a group of blokes who don’t know how to win and act.

His performances this season have been a joke and he’s still the first guy named.
