#2 Big Sammy Draper (from May 2024)

Imagine that 4th quarter, but all game every game.

Goodness.

Weirdly enough, Draper seems to play better against better opposition. Put him against some pinch-hitters or no-names, and he phones it in.

Great game by Drapes yesterday. Really happy for him.

He played well around the ground particularly in the last quarter. I can’t deny that. Really influential.

ā€œAustralian rules footballers with mullets play slightly worse than those without mullets.ā€

Just throwing that out there…

Messrs Rossi and Parfitt once sang ā€œIt’s never too late to change itā€, so there’s hope.

yeh there’s a bit of nick kygrios in the showmanship.

When was the last time we won the ruck contest? And against a pretty good combo in Darcy and Jackson.

i was impressed by bryan’s tap work too yesterday. both guys need to win more taps though

@wimmera1 wake up and fkn post in here

That’s the entire Essendon team

Why you guys @ing me like you wouldn’t have him in the cannon with Laverde, Menzie and (for some reason) Kelly if we’d lost?

He played well. It was a good ruck combination.
It wasn’t his best game by a long way, for mine.

Right up there would be his twenty disposal, four mark, 33 tap game in the driving rain against Melbourne.
You know, the sort of game that a lazy guy with no tank puts in. But his twenty metre thumps forward for territory were Stooooopid and going against team instructions and iT’s aLl hE kNoWs hOw tO dO.

He’s going alright for a guy who missed seven or eight weeks with knee surgery this year.
His game has improved.

My contributions to this thread have never been about over-rating him, they’ve been about responding to the AWFUL, MALICIOUS, HATEFUL, DISGUSTING comments made about him. They make me sick.

He’s.
Fine.
And he remains the absolute least of our concerns.

He played a more mature game. Definitely cycled the ball to better kicks quicker to not let Freo set up.

This game is the exact problem with Draper, and a number of other players.

Total inconsistency of effort.

He Only performs when he feels like it, or has been ripped to shreds verbally by the coach.

Does he actually want to be a premiership player, or is he just happy with the limelight of being an AFL player (their lifestyle) off the ground?
