No doubt Sam is a WIP, is ill disciplined at times too. However, he brings X factor to a team that is sadly lacking the same. Given Sam’s lack of footy early life, I expect him to continue to improve & mature, he is certainly someone that has huge upside & certainly has the athletic scope to do so.
The carry-on is not required for this bloke, he is driven to be better, he just needs to be guided appropriately to the areas where the team needs his input the most, which is not always where Sam thinks.

If everyone took the EFC rose coloured glasses off for a bit they would see how deadset average he is and we would be far better served as a team with a ruckman that is consistent in their tap work and relief marking instead of a bloke who does one half exciting thing every four weeks
In saying that, if Adelaide is hypothetically “going hard” for him what would they need to give up in order to take him off our hands? They have pick 4 & 25 in first 2 rounds. I’d doubt 25 is enough, 4 is likely too much…split pick 4 or maybe 25 and F1st and back themselves to perform in 2025?
We could easily lose him and roll with Bryan Vigo and Goldstein and be nearly in the same spot send him off to Adelaide get Oscar Ryan a half back flanker type with good skills and a second.
Fills a hole on our list also helps with points for Kako or a possible trade up using Adelaide’s second and our second to get up above a kako bid.
