@noobermensch your great YouTube channel has become my go-to for draftees. Do you have a full season highlights vid for Farrow (I don’t see it)?

No I don’t sorry. Its more difficult to get enough games with quality vision from WA to put it together. The quality of the broadcast and quality of the streams aren’t always usable.

There’s been some talk going on behind the scenes from a few us pushing to get them to improve the bitrate and camera work.

Is there a package from one of his wafl senior games? I couldn’t see one but maybe I overlooked it

@noobermensch what are Farrow’s limitations/improvements? The knock on him was his speed from memory, however a lot of draft profiles list him as powerful, which usually equates to speed?..

(Sorry if you’ve answered this but i’ve looked and can’t find anything).

No that’s another issue. In prior years I could get senior WAFL footage from the AFL site, but this year they signed a deal with 7 to show all the WAFL games on the local channel 7 service over in WA exclusively.

They do also broadcast on 7+ but living in NZ I’m region locked out of that.

If it doesnt change next season I’ll look into getting VPN access to regional WA channel 7 to solve the issue.

Good assessment and don’t disagree with it. Is his short and medium kicking any good? Anyone know how that tested? In the vid I see a lot of Cutler type kicking - run 15 and kick 55 nicely which is great but I never really called Cutler a necessarily good or handy kick at kicking THROUGH oppo

I wouldn’t call him quick, but he’s fast enough. Its not straight line speed exactly but he’s pretty slippery in a crowd… I think it comes from having strong footwork and balance.

He spoke about getting a sprint trainer last pre-season. I think just in general he needs to keep working on that stuff, pace and movement, keep building his tank, adding more muscle to his frame, especially if he wants to play through the midfield.

He comes across as a pretty laid back character so I think its worth keeping an eye on how he goes about training. He’s a complete footy nuffy and had to work really hard to get here so I’m not overly concerned.

Honestly its tough to give you a good answer on this. He’s an excellent kick, he’s pretty strong in the air and on the ground. He’s been pretty good with his defensive stuff unlike some other rebounding defenders. If I were to pick areas for improvement it would be composure with the ball under pressure (this is more for when he’s playing midfield), and maybe ramping up his physicality a bit.

To me he seems to kick to good position. All three seem to have decent kicks that go where they intend them to. But until we see them at the level it’s pretty hard to know. The difference between intent and precision. BUT they can all kick properly, rejoice in the streets for minor miracles. The ā€˜raking left foot’ stuff with Farrow is promising. Like Garrett McDonaugh’s leg attached to a body that can do other stuff as well.

Similar to the quality of the w.a development system by the sounds. 1 player in the top 25 again last night for what’s meant to be the second biggest footy state. They need a state academy there. On the other hand 9 of the top 21 came from nsw and qld, which is good for the game. But yeah the afl really need to prop up w.a footy it’s a major disappointed lately.

I like the seem to have got a sneaky bolter with this guy. Not the huge story of Robey but I read he was overlooked for West Perth’s u18 squad initially and then just got better and better as the year went on. It’s a good sign for the future.

Really excited by this pick, classy player who has the potential to play further up the ground one day

Zak Johnson and Farrow off the HB line is something we lack, quality ball use coming out of that area

Eh, I don’t see the comparisons myself but having a player that plays like they are willing to die for their team mates isn’t a bad thing. Competitive beasts are what this team lacks

His highlights remind me of Jack scrimshaw’s as an 18 year old.

hopefully he’s more of a Hayden young/dawson than scrimshaw

No question Maynard does all of that and more, like take out an opposition player and end his career with a late, head high hit. That is the part l object to.

wish they still had the kicking test at the combine.

still trying to work out if farrow is an elite kick or just has a good looking left footed action and roosts it most of the time (like Maynard).
