Tom is a giant old-style ruckman. When fit, he wins hitouts, shoves opponents out of the way, drifts into the forward line and takes marks and kicks goals.
He is not and never will be a forward line player. He’s a ruckman.
He’s 27, which is about the time that ruckmen should be putting up or shutting up.
Let’s hope he comes back, stays fit and becomes a star.
Because if he doesn’t get there this time, we should be looking for someone who can get fit and stay fit.
