We’re in no position to be handing over first round picks for 29 year olds.

We seemed to finally turn a corner as far as trading-in quality players last year.
Would be good to see us now look at options to trade up into the real pointy end of a draft to land an absolute gun midfielder.
Identify the gun midfielder we want and trade up to get him.
Just like Melbourne who leapfrogged us to get Oliver.

Would hardly call Stringer at the moment quality. Smith is a hell yes and Saad yes.
No doubting Sloanes ability but we need a bigger younger player, Wines @ 190 cm 100kg is the size we need.

Understand, but at least with Stringer we’ve seen him reach AA level so he is ‘proven’ to a degree, we just need to hopefully get him back somewhere near that level over the next 2 years.
He’s certainly no Prismal, Zantuck, Murphy etc
That may the case but extracting one of the best young inside mids in the league is near on impossible and would cost plenty trade wise.
Sloane will cost us nothing besides $$ hopefully. And can still use our 1st rounder on some quality talent.

Very good mail that Sloane is definitely heading back to Melbourne and that we are making a huge play. Might not match the cash offer from Saints/Blues but he is keen on a big Club that is not far from contending. Watch this space.
