2019 Draft Watch - it’s over, apart from all the remaining bits

Houlihan seemed the latter. It’s hard to fix sometimes.

Personally I’d be focussing on guys who have the onfield chops who have intensity at the footy but lack the professionalism, rather than the massive tool bag but no ability to use it in a game or real intensity at the footy.

Just get Philp

Pickett’s standing within this year’s pool has long been a point of contention among recruiters. But the electric 171cm small forward has since rocketed into first-round calculations, having been officially invited to the first night of the draft on November 27.

The Western Bulldogs – who hold pick No.13 – are heavily courting Pickett, while Melbourne is also interested in the smart goalkicker should it find a suitor to trade down from pick No.8.

with some clubs after small forwards early might leave some mids at our picks.

True.
And Hartley leaving may shuffle the choice of defenders around a bit more - there’s supposedly a few tall defenders in the top 30 listings that other clubs wouldn’t want to see drift to our pair of picks.

This is why Blitz needs a dislike button

I hope we get 2 of Rantall, Philp, Chirgwin, or Dow with our first 2 picks.

With our picks in the 60s I hope we go for Indigenous kids.

Obviously it will depend what talent is available but I wouldn’t be surprised to see us pick up two or even three developing talls. Conversely I’d be very surprised if we went with two mids in the 30s.

im not advocating we draft him, thats just an excerpt from the nab league app. i was surprised that dogs and Dees looking at taking him so early.

posted it more so that I have seen him rated after our first 2 picks in some mock drafts so if he goes earlier we should have some mids available.

He’s at the top of my list of players I want, hence the dislike.

ahh ok…
yeh I thought he would be in the mix, just need to see whose left at our pick.
Or if Dodoror can get up the draft order somehow.

If Rivers gets to our pick

Boy oh boy

Williams and rivers - nice choice if it fell that way.

Geogiades sounds like the kind of speculative player Dodoro usually goes for in the 30s.

If Mead is still there at Port’s pick they wouldn’t use it. Would let him slip and pick someone else and then use points to counter any later bids.

I think they are implying he’ll get bid on earlier and they just got lazy

They matched a bid in that scenario

What’s everyone’s thoughts on Harrison Jones? 196cm Forward. Could be a good option if available at one of our picks in the 30’s. Philp is the other one I’d take in the 30’s.
