Otherwise nice work

FTFY both.

Nice

Only 7 clubs went with the full 40 men last year.
Unless there’s a player we really rate (like Zerk) available for our fourth pick, then I expect 3 choices only.

Its certainly possible.

But given we already have 2 rookie selections available, I don’t think we need a 3rd. So I expect us to take the 4 national draft picks, and then grab the 2 rookies.

What might be interesting is if they choose to leave a spot available to be filled later in the preseason, or even the mid-season draft.

There are advantages to the rookie spots - apart from salary cap space, and a possible later selection, it would allow the traditional Rookie spots to be filled.
One Benfti special
One baby ruck
One VFL back pocket / flanker.

Thus giving us a less risk averse and more balanced list.

Don’t we win all the drafts?

I always like to see how young players handle the media and spotlight and having a young fella talking to them aswell. Plenty of player interviews here with some kids naturals with interviews and others not so much (Elijah Taylor)

l see he is wearing Under Armour apparel.
WSPHU.

Speaking with a recruiter today and he said on talent alone Elijah would be top 10.

Knock on him was that he “isn’t there half the time”, stands up in every now and then but won’t be your regular possesion winner. Didnt train for the combine, just rocked up (did well anyway). Loves a big game but seems to only play in passages throughout regular games.

Risk/reward type we never seem to go for.

He is the type of player that shouldn’t be available in the 30’s but may well be based on those very deficiencies.

His ability to work in confined spaces, disposal. speed and decision making is very eye-catching.

Yeah if you watch those interviews Elijah Taylor looks to struggle and from what I’ve heard he is the same for when he talks to clubs, a lot to work with there but not every player needs to be good infront of media and whatnot

Only if we get a fist pump from Jackets

Sounds like he’ll be there in the rookies then.

I’d have thought we frequently go for that type with Dodoro’s punt in the 2nd round.

We generally prefer the risk of “can’t play football” over the risk of “not professional”.
