Really liked what BJ Goddard said about Dodoro regarding the Dunkley interest.
He hasn’t plucked this from nowhere. If you’re suddenly going to have interested in a gun opposition player, someone you want to bring to The Dons, you don’t pick a guy with 2 years on his contract remaining. You also pick a bigger name, no disrespect to Dunkley.
He has definitely picked up a scent during the year that he’s not been happy, and he’s been in his managers ear planting the seed that Essendon are very interested, and that it’s big money & big opportunity.
As much as I often dream about suffocating Dodoro, this has been pretty well done. If he nominates us this week, definitely well done. The hurdle is The Dogs of course. But they’d have to keep a player that no longer wants to be there, and that’s not got a great track record of working out well.

The reported 700k for 5 years isn’t even paying overs for him, it’s basically the same money that Crouch is getting, only Dunkley is both younger and less of a dickhed coke fiend and might actually have a positive impact in our clubhouse.

I think he said that Dons and Dogs had agreed on value, but needed to work out the mechanics of the trade. Something along those lines.
