2021 All australian Team - essendon player chances

Doubt they put 4 x kpf’s in there

There would prob be another mid/fwd like Petracca or genuine small like Papley

Fritsch isnt a key tall, more mid size.
Stringers a mid slotting in the forwardline.
Cameron Small forward who took tippas spot.

Petracca only kicked 24 goals - Bontempelli has more.

nah he hasn’t been that good and only played 11 games.

Anyone going to put Joe D at CHF in the AA team?
Nah, I thought not.

Forward pocket where he can snap around the corner.

I think Merrett will be our only selection. Stringer’s probably missed too many, Ridley has been very good, but has stiff competition, Tippa’s form has fallen off a cliff and Parish will just miss out.

Merrett’s body of work has slightly edged Parish out. I could see Stringer and Merrett making the final squad. Parish the 40.

There are 4 or 5 who play Ridley’s position who are pretty good and have had good years

Haynes, Stewart, Ballard, Maynard, Dale

I’d think Stringer, Merrett and Parish are our only chances.

It is interesting. If Parish and Merrett get 75 possies between them this week, they break the afl record for the most possessions by a pair of players from the same team in a season.

The record is held by Crouch and Laird, who did it in 2017. Both players made the all Australian team that year.

I reckon 3 in the 40. Stringer, Parish and Merrett.

Parish named in the midfield somewhere due to leading the league in centre clearances by a mile.

Stringer bench or HFF.

Merrett to not make the final 22 again in another highway robbery.

Adelaide also finished on top of the ladder during the regualr season (Minor Premier) which helped

I’m not sure how people can reasonably forecast 3 or 4 selections. On average each team will get one representative. We’ve got a 10/11 record. Only the most dominant teams have four players picked.

I would say Parish or Merrett would be our only 2 chances.
atm leaning towards Parish as he’s had a bit more publicity.

Stringer has been the #1 rated player in the AFL since Round 14, there’s absolutely no chance he doesn’t take a spot forward as a mid/fwd option

We had 3 in 2017, and we were hardly dominant.

I reckon stringer will be put on a half forward flank, Merrett will get a starting mid gig, and Parish will make the bench.

Stringer will make it, maybe Merret.
Mids selection is pretty damn chock-a-block.

Soooo . . . he was good for half the year then competing against players who were good for the whole year?
Will probably lose out on a spot to Greene & Petracca.

no changes for mine

Melbourne could easily have six - you’d think Lever, Oliver, Petracca and Gawn would be near certainties and Salem and May big chances.
