Well, I freely admit that at the season beginning, I thought we were a genuine top 8 squad, and could win a final or two if things went well. But I didn’t think we were GF contenders, I thought that was 2022 if it went to plan.
So, I’m thrilled to have made the big dance. Hopefully we put up a good account of ourselves, we’re still a bit unpredictable and I’m certainly not terribly confident.
Condolences to @cafegerat . I’ve really enjoyed watching you build that squad and I’m sure you can go again.

Disappointing that the shittest team I’ve put on the park all season had to be this week. I’m pretty happy with my team and hopefully I’m in a similar position next season and I’m able to actually field a best 22!
I still feel bad for @No_5 his luck was way worse than mine.

Have got this far thanks to some great finals efforts from my bottom end. Daniel Rioli emerging as a potential keeper after his move to defence has been huge. Tommy Cutler last week sticking two fingers up to his critics and even Kieran Strachan (70 odd this week) and Tom Fullarton (who saved me from zero scores for about a month) trying their hearts out in the ruck have all been great. Just one more week lads!

For @The_Melkman this will be his second appearance in a BBFFL#2 Grand Final. He previously won the 2013 premiership. By making the Grand Final from 6th position he becomes the first coach from that position and second only from outside the the top 4 - @westozziebomber won the flag from 5th in 2015.
The 2021 Grand Final will be @saladin’s first BBFFL#2 Grand Final. Since joining the league in 2013 his previous best performance was semi finals appearances in 2014, 2019 and 2020.
Grand Final #10 for BBFFL#2 will be the 4th time top spot has missed the grand final. The final ladder positions of the grand finalists of 2nd and 6th collectively will be the lowest ranked match up - going past the inaugural Grand Final of 3rd vs 4th when westozziebomber defeated @Stoops in 2012.
