2021 Draft Watch

Yes that is stupid. Cox should have averaged 5.7 ppg which puts him 13th.

Small sample sizes often make statistics look silly. Reids 5.5 and Winders 6.1 are both very average scores for player ratings, nothing impressive.

No they are just being used for a stupid purpose.

Yes

He only scored 5.5, thats pretty low.

Thats true of anything of this sort, supercoach, fantasy points, player ratings etc. I think player ratings does a better job then the other 2.

He had some really good games where he scored over 10 in the player ratings, but there were other games that drag the average score down especially in the second half of the year.

Not interested. Who in the draft pool has shades of Ariel Steinberg?

What’s all this Sam Darcy is a unicorn ■■■■? We’ve got the unicorn….The Bulldogs can fark right off.

That’s just their way of saying Darcy is the next Tim English; not tough enough to actually be a ruckman, and not actually mobile enough to be a key forward.
Suck it up Footscray.

Tim English, or Josh Schache maybe more relevant. early pick, lack ticker, but at least they didnt pay pick 2 like lions did.

Cox had as much impact as anyone on that list in the first 12 matches.

Easy to argue given he was leading candidate for the best first year player / rising star.

Sub rule will skew everyone effected averages, mian reason why I don’t like it.
Just give a team a extra 10-20 rotations if they get a injury.

Don’t know if Darcy will be a Schache like dud.
More a comment on the “unicorn” label being a fan palatable way of saying Jack of all trades, master of none.

And that I’ve been critical of English as a ruck for years, and now there’s general acknowledgment.

Isn’t Darcy more of a forward, less of a ruck, but like Joey Daniher and Wright, can play there due to being tall, he is also a lot more mobile than his dad.

There is a chance Darcy ends up like Schache, but also a chance he ends up like Tom Hawkins, one of the best KPF gifted to a club as a father son.

Highly rated KPF coming through - Travis Cloke, Tom Hawkins, Joe Daniher all turned out to be decent.

failed ones, maybe cordys, but not sure they were rated that high. and more of a ruckman so …
Jay Neagle, but that was more due to work ethic / liked burgers too much. And was rated more of a later pick, not rated top 10 pre draft.

If we get a player who can read the play, is cool under pressure, and delivers the ball to forwards on a silver platter with a thin little chocolate mint in an individual wrapper on the side, then I will be well pleased.

I got a real “how can we manipulate the stats to come up with a real weird conclusion” vibe from that article.
Like ranking full backs for how many goals they kicked.
Just middle of October, no footy on and no draft yet, what the hell else can we say.

He’s pretty smooooth.

I’d be happy if we got him as he’s a good player.

I just think he’s abit to similar to what we already have (Merrett, Parish, Snelling).

In terms of list, I’d just prefer Goater, NWM or Rachele ahead of him.

But if those 3 are gone, I’m happy to get him…… as he’s a good player.

How is the draft still a month away? I need to know who our next superstar is.

Recruiters like to have the extra time to do their homework……. But I’d prefer to have these kids do a full preseason with their team mates.

was Rachele / NWM / Goater

After round 12 Cox had the 3rd highest average ppg for his draft class, 6.9ppg. Powell was 2nd with 7ppg and gulden 1st with 8.4ppg.
