2021 Finals Week 3

I’d like to see Melb win the flag. Been fkn ages for them and I’ve got a few close mates who are long suffering Dees men and an uncle whose health is not good right now which would lift his spirits.

Not that I have any dislike for the Cats however. Have to admire them really being up there year after year.

The other finalists yes. Hate them both. Hoping Port knock off Dogs also just because I’m sick of the free ride they’ve had with umps this entire year with umps including knocking us out.

Obviously want a close contest in both games though.

And then Port to get rolled in the grand final by Dees. That’s my ideal result.

Honestly don’t know how this is possible.

Head ducking, arm lifting, free milking, Ump pampered flogs.

Not to mention Dangerfraud being the head of the AFLPA doing SFA for our players during the SAGA.

Not one word spoken in their defence, let alone action.

And then when Conor was ragged mercilessly in the press, … more fking silence.

Hope they get absolutely smashed.

Will they play in the prelim? Star Power forwards on light duties

Robbie Gray and Orazio Fantasia train away from the main group on Tuesday

PORT Adelaide is dismissing any lingering concern over Orazio Fantasia’s fitness despite the injury-prone forward being restricted at training on Tuesday.

Fantasia and fellow goalsneak Robbie Gray were placed on light duties at Alberton Oval ahead of Port’s preliminary final against the Western Bulldogs on Saturday night.

The pair didn’t join Port’s main group, instead doing skills work on the sidelines.

Fantasia booted four goals in the Power’s qualifying final win against Geelong before being substituted in the last quarter after copping a knock to a knee.

Teammate Dan Houston says the workloads of both Fantasia and triple club champion Gray are being managed ahead of the Adelaide Oval knockout final against the Dogs.

“They will be ready to train on Thursday,” Houston told reporters, adding the key pair were in “no doubt at all” for the game.

Port will host a preliminary final for the second season in a row - they lost last year by just six points to eventual premiers Richmond.

And Houston was adamant the Power were better placed this year.

“We have all taken a leap forward in our game … we’re in a better position to embrace what comes at us this time around,” he said.

"During the week we have gone back through (the preliminary final from) last year and what we thought we could have improved on.

"It was a pretty close game but probably our composure during the game hurt us a little.

"We will be looking to use what we learned from last year - all the little things help us be a better team this time around.

“We feel like we’re a really strong connected group that does the little things really well and that is what it will come down to on the weekend.”

The Bulldogs have injury concerns over captain Marcus Bontempelli (knee) and will lose dangerous forward Cody Weightman to concussion.

In contrast, the Power have a remarkably healthy playing roster.

Just three players - fringe wingman Kane Farrell (knee) and two rookies - are unavailable due to injury, resulting in a selection squeeze.

“Everyone is a bit on edge this week … we all know it’s a tight selection,” Houston said.

“It’s a good spot to be in. Some boys will be disappointed come (selection on) Thursday and some will be excited, but we will get around each other and stay connected and tight.”

My thoughts exactly

Port at home too strong and with Bont in mount and no Weightman be tuff ask too repeat the same against Port. I think Figs played their GF.

Melbourne I feel over celebrated finishing minor premiers and Geelong had that game until they put cue in the rack and couldn’t stop the demons on slaught. They won’t allow that again the cats but it will be a close game.

So do I. I want them to lose. Does that make me a bad person?

You guys that think Geelong will get over the Dees are on a bad acid trip !

Come on Port.

I have other friends I’d wish this on, but not these ones. Some friends are nicer people than others. (I also have good friends who barrack for Geelong, but I’m hoping they’ll lose ).

Wouldn’t mind a scandal the likes of Baguley’s run down of Monfries in 2014 and have the play on call resulting in the winning goal on the final siren.

At the time “Essendon coach Mark Thompson said the umpire made a mistake”.

I’m not sure whether I want to see Melbourne beat Port or Footscray by twenty goals…

West Coast Eagle great John Worsfold is expected to be named as the person who will hand over the AFL Premiership Cup to the winning team

Lots of learnings from this (if true)

My neighbour (in his 80’s and a Bombers supporter) informed me the other day, when Melbourne won their last premiership the Olympics were in Tokyo. Omen perhaps.

Ol Teflon’s team will choke. Mark my words. I don’t want them too but they will. Everyone are expecting they win but the Cats will do enough to get over the line.

Doggies will beat Port. Port are ■■■■. Dogs V Cats and the cats win GF sadly

I’ll go with Melbourne v Port

Nice to see Pig Hibberd getting back into the Dees team for PF weekend.

Hopefully he can stay there and get his shot at glory. Always liked him.
