Caught a few minutes of Kane Cornes on SEN on Monday (I think) crapping on about how all the naysayers who said it would be a boring and uneventful trade period were now proved wrong.
Ummm. No. They werenât.
To the point where Lloyd, Goddard et al have been reduced to compiling idiotic and stupefying lists such as âbest shot for goal from 31.27 metersâ and âCurrent Captains Iâd like to play underâ. Lol, if they ever have the self awareness to look back at what theyâve reduced their own âexpertâ status to, they should be horrified.

12.36pm: Is pick 19 one of the most valuable selections going around?
The reversion to a two-night NAB AFL Draft will see pick No.19 â a selection currently in the mix for the potential Jordan Clark deal â become the first pick used on night two.
It gives the holding club (Fremantle, after it was part of the Will Brodie deal) nearly 24 hours to make a selection, or field trade requests from other clubs for the pick.
Geelong is keen to receive the selection in return for Clark.

âThis one stands as the one to watch tonight. One of the clubs has to give a little more or take a little less,â Cal Twomey said on Continental Tyres AFL Trade Radio.
"Having the first pick of the second night means the clubs around that part of the night can spend that 12, 16, 18 hours mulling over the players they really like.
"If someoneâs slipped, like a Devon Robertson-type, we saw the Brisbane Lions offer up a second-round pick just to move up a spot and grab him a couple of years ago in 2019.
âItâs a valuable position to hold, so thatâs where 19 is a target for Geelong and why Fremantle want to keep it.â

I really shouldnât let what the AFL media or wider football public think of our great club and itâs people, but I do get annoyed around this time of year.
Stephen Wells and Geelong get lauded cos they âdonât cave inâ and âdo whatâs best for his clubâ
Whereas Adrian Dodoro is hard to deal with and should just stop being petty etc
Iâve never paid much attention to Matt Rendall. I see him cop flack on Twitter and alike, but I just happened to be listening to him with Tim Gossage on SEN an hour ago. And his takes on certain trades and situations were horrendous. Even a smarmy sarcastic comment in relation to Bobby Hill and âitâs not like Adrian to chase a contracted playerâ.
I would have thought most people by now know the Hill has sort out Essendon, not the other way around.
I had to turn the radio off.

Just a quick question when was the last time a player said⌠"I wanna go home for family reasons and will go to any club in that state that will have me? "
Thatâs an improvement on last year where deals couldnât be lodged on the final day of trade period until 3pm, which led to Lloyd having to get his 7 year old son involved:

So what happened to changing pick 11 into two first round picks?
I totally agree with you - some of the things that have happened with nominating clubs is ridiculous. I canât think of one time that a player has just nominated a state - even when they have had legit personal reasons to go home.
We still have some time for that. Pick swaps can happen at any point.
