Can I put Zane Trew on the LTI? He’s out for 5-6 weeks.
Looks like Allen will be a 4-5 week injury for a few more weeks.
Source? I haven’t seen any proper injury lists yet.
Sorry.
Thought I posted the link.
WCE might be dipping into their Covid contingencies so they may need to formally show an injury list.
No other teams has one.
Approved.

Conargo Bulls - Trade and Draft Review
Despite having observed this league for the past 10 plus years, I had not real plan for how I would approach my first season competing in the BBFFL. The only thing I knew was that Windy Dill would be my arch rival – or as Blitz legend Cerebus would say – “when friends become enemies”.
With that in mind and little else, I set about reinventing the list. Over the course of the trade period, I successfully eradicated anyone on my list who was aged older than 24. This meant fantasy studs in Jack Crisp, Brodie Smith, Toby Nankervis, Taylor Adams, Stephen Coniglio and Karl Amon departed the Bull pen. In return we managed to secure some young players all with plenty of fantasy upside – some more so than others. The one outlier was Tom Atkins who at age 26 came in as a mature age, ie over 24 years old, recruit. The list of ins from the trade period:
- Miles Bergman – 20
- Hayden Young - 20
- Ben Keays - 24
- Will Brodie - 23
- Ollie Florent - 23
- Mitch Lewis - 23
- Trent Bianco - 21
- and Tom Atkins - 26
My strategy heading into the draft was to secure a mix of young and experienced players that were close to best 22. Overall, I think this objective was met. The thought process behind each of the picks as follows was:
Pick 4 – Josh Ward 18 - this choice seemed fairly easy in the lead up to the draft. I figured that Horne-Francis, Daicos, Ward and Hobbs would make up the top 4. I was happy to take which ever one fell to pick 4. For that reason, I never considered trading this prized pick away. My thinking around Hobbs was that he would go top 4 off the back of the Essendon bias/influence. However, my thoughts all went out the window when Rachele dominated the last AMMI game bringing himself into top 4 calculations. With Rachele going at pick 3 my choice came down to Hobbs or Ward. In the end the prospect of playing early season matches meant the Ward got the nod. But I am really hoping I will live to regret this decision for the next 10 years.
Pick 36 – Charlie Constable 22 - boom or bust. What else can I say about Charlie Constable. There is no doubt he is a fantasy stud, but there is plenty of doubt if he is an AFL footballer. A preseason injury has put him behind the eight ball, but I am still expecting he will get far more opportunities at the Suns then he got at the Cats. Constable fits my demographic perfectly and was one I had listed for a top 15 pick – although his injury meant this was fairly optimistic. Finn Maginness was someone else considered at this pick, but I figured it was too early for someone with questionable job security.
Pick 40 – Ben Paton 23 – we went looking for a back who was likely best 22. Paton fitted the brief perfectly. Coming off a serious leg injury the concern was if he would slide straight back into the Saint’s best 22. Based on the pre-season showings this shouldn’t be an issue and its expected that the will be a regular, meaning he will fill a hole in the Conargo Bulls defence. Mitch Hinge was the other player under real consideration but Paton seemed more assured of a game.
Pick 76 – Hayden Crozier 28 – as a premiership player for the Conargo Bulls in BBFFL#2 there was a certain amount of sentimentality about this pick. The major concern was if Crozier is still a guaranteed starter for the Bulldogs. His scoring ability is still there if the game plan at the Whitten Oval still includes chipping the ball around in defence. Another bonus was that as a 28 year old he could bring some maturity to what is very young squad. The other options considered at this pick were one of the Sydney ruckman – Hickey, McLean etc to handcuff with Ladhams.
(As I type this he nailed a goal just before the quarter time siren!)
Pick 103 - Kieren Briggs 22 – our number 1 ruck choice Ladhams does not seem to be a guaranteed starter for the Swans in round 1 which meant our ruck depth may be stretched. Max Lynch is the other option to play in the ruck. With that in mind I turned my attention to the rucks. Briggs showed plenty last season, but the concern is that he is likely to be behind both Flynn and Preuss. The suspension to Presuss in Round 1 opened a window that I am hoping Briggs jumps through and remains inside. Mclean and Amartey from Sydney were the other alternates with this pick.
Pick 104 - Jamaine Jones – 23 – small forwards aren’t necessarily players I target – especially ones who have been delisted and end up at a second club via the rookie list. But with back to back picks and needing to add forward depth Jones fitted the bill. Over the preseason Jones has showed something and may get some of the fantasy gold mid time in 2022. With the injury crisis out west, there is a possibility this mid time may come early in the season.
Pick 128 - Trent Dumont - 26 – this pick was straight out the best available from the pool of remaining players. Dumont has shown an ability to score well in previous seasons and is still relatively young at 26. Adjusted for full game time he averaged 98 in 2020 and he in 2019 his average was 88. Yes he was delisted by the Tin Rattlers, yes he is outside of the desired demographic, yes he is not guaranteed a spot in Port’s best and yes he is injured – but at pick 128 he was just too good in my view to overlook. Other players considered were Will Martyn and Mitch Hinge.
Pick 137 - Will Martyn 20 - another player who has shown the ability to rack up fantasy points at lower levels, both in the VFL and in under age footy. Aged only 20 he is right in that sweet spot for a potential fantasy break out season. The big question mark remains if he can claim a spot in the Tigers best 22. Playing the last quarter of the AAMI match against the Hawks suggests that he isn’t too far away and may be called up if the Tigers suffer any injuries in the midfield. The other alternative remained Mitch Hinge.
Pick 144 - Mitch Hinge 23 – finally after considering him as far back as pick 40 in the draft it was time to pull the trigger on Hinge. He played the AAMI match for the Crows which meant he was in the frame for round 1. The only risk was that he was reported to have not trained over the weekend which didn’t read well given his injury history. Should he get on the field he should score well. There are good signs with the Crows confirming he is playing this week.
Pick 157 - Callum Brown 23 – there is a little bit of Daicos mania about this pick. The Pies need to get their fans back on side given how horrible the end was under Big Head and Figjam. Playing a club captain’s son/certified prick is the perfect tonic. Two years ago he showed signs of becoming a 70 plus fantasy player, but stagnated bigtime last year. At Pick 157 he is a low risk option who will be given a few weeks to show if he is still or a dud or if there is something there.
So in summary I have managed to build a reshape squad that now has an average age of 22.6. Prior to the trade period the average age was 25.6 so we have brought in youth and stamped this squad as my own with a new coat of paint. The likely best line up is as follows:
B: Jack Scrimshaw B, Jordan Clark CB, Hayden Young B
HB: Ben Paton B, Hayden Crozier B, Mitch Hinge CB
C: Ben Keays C, Oliver Florent C, Hugh McCluggage C
HF: Tom Atkins FB, Jade Gresham FC, Tanner Bruhn FC
F: Trent Bianco FC, Quinton Narkle FC, Jamaine Jones F
Rucks: Peter Ladhams FR, Josh Ward C, Will Brodie C
Bench: Miles Bergman CB, Dylan Stephens C, Aaron Francis FB, Max Lynch R
Depth: Callum Ah Chee FB, Reef McInnes CB, Mitch Lewis F, Charlie Constable C, Kieren Briggs FR, Trent Dumont C, Will Martyn C, Callum Brown F
He’s played 88% game time up until the end of the third.

Was hoping one of Stringer or Duncan were going to make the start line for r1 but not to be, a bit of a strain on fwd depth with no Lambert or Cripps. Hopefully Flanders gets picked at the Suns so that I don’t have to take Hannan’s score, don’t think he touched it after half time.
@Dunlop what would the ruling be on a Lambert LTI, haven’t seen anything formal from the club but reports earlier this month were that he could be set for a long stint on the sidelines?
Selection wasn’t good for me.
I’m short a forward and a defender.
And that’s if all my extended interchange players are selected (I’m expecting 2 of the 3 to make it).
Glad Sheldrick made the team.
Peatling and Ruscoe didn’t make it and are in line to be delisted at FA in the coming week.
I’m very happy to welcome back the pre 2021 version of Sean Darcy. out injured in round 1 because he is sore.
Half arsing 2 practice matches is tough. ■■■■■■■ donkey
Selection has been reasonably kind to us. Daicos to debut, as expected. We’re waiting on extended benches for Sholl and Powell, but I think both should make the cut and we have some coverage. Stephens an emergency, might be sub but at least he’s close.
Made a tactical error committing Tomlinson to the 18 for Lever before full teams came out . But in our defence we’re in unfamiliar territory - actually having choice in the makeup of the 18! This has been uncommon…
So, I’ve read up on him and it looks like they’ve advised against surgery, and will instead have him resume training and see how his body responds as the intensity ramp up. He doesn’t have an official timeline, but given the course of treatment he is at least some chance of returning within the 6 weeks.
As long as you’re willing to accept that risk, I’ll grant the LTI request.
Just over a quarter before Prestia gets injured, bloke just cannot stay on the park
Cool, thanks, will assess prognosis on Duncan and Stringer returning before potentially pulling the trigger
Selection not kind to the Crunchas. That is all.
I’m already copping what I had hoped to avoid - scores in the 30’s . Partly my fault due to playing guys who are having to play as key defenders. 8 players used and an average score of mid 50’s isn’t good enough. We need to learn what our best 18 is asap, but we likely won’t see it until Rivers and Coleman are back in the defence. Ross’ 76 was ok, but Cotchin well below par and Soldo was unsighted.
Still hoping for some good scores from our remaining players.
