Think people are missing the point that it is Gold Coast who hold the most strings in this potential exchange. They would not be suited to just let JB cruise to the Cats because it is his preference, they will want to leverage maximum value for the pick 7 carrot.
Having competative offers across multiple clubs would be their objective and I reckon this would have been communicated to Bowes.
