2022 trade speculation (Part 3)

Essendon: We have great facilities at the hanger and a decent team on paper

Geelong: we just won the flag and will give you a cheap 50 ha farm, which will be rezoned in 5 years and make you a multi millionaire

Uhmm which one will he choose…

they didnt.

they asked him across the last 2 years if he could push back his cash and he agreed.

If Bowes doesn’t pick Essendon, he better be going to Geelong. I don’t want Hawthorn or North getting pick 7.

The rumours are it was back ended. So it may have been (for example) a 4-year $2.1m contract but they only paid $400k in the first two years. Still very weird.

Tarryn Thomas would cost a bit, would anyone here be willing to offer pick 4 or our F1 for him, because Norf would ask for that, maybe more as they’ll be so butthurt.

Yeah likely and being contracted through to 2024 as well. BUT North could be seen as being very insensitive if they do not potentially let player go with current issues playing out.

No. But he shouldn’t cost that either.

Excuse my ignorance (I’m not going back to read the previous thread), but why is Bowes tied up with pick 7, and what is it going to cost us if he does nominate Essendon?

No to Thomas this year. I just realised he has two more years to go on his contract. That’ll be Dunkley all over again. Better to ask the question next year or when he is out of contract. With JHF, there’s no way they will accept less.

Suns trying to dump him for his astronomical salary, offering up pick 7 to get a deal done, likely to cost a late future first/early future second.

That’s what they’ll want, and he’s contracted.

North will have to dig their heels in big time

They can’t afford to be letting quality contracted players walk out cheaply or even at all.

Yep, they’ll need to draw the line somewhere and it will be TT

Yep, of course we will down-play Tarryn Thomas’ value and point to his most recent lull in performance this season, but he is a top 10 pick in a trade- probably closer to 4 than 10. Bloke will IMO turn into an elite level match winner- plenty of signs already.

I’m not so sure Norf should be digging in their heels with an indigenous player at the min. Nothing “proven” as yet and plenty to play out but they have come out hard supporting Clarkson…IMO if Thomas wants to go there needs to be an understanding between North and player within reason.

Port played this card in the media when Ryder wanted out. I can see this ending badly for North if they block a request and trade.

Stay away from Thomas.

Cheers. I’ll give them next year’s 2nd and Ham for pick 7 and Bowes.

Now, who’s this Bowes fellow?

Thomas will be a very good player in the right environment. Wouldn’t give a top 10 pick though.

Not unless Thomas (and his manager) are happy to play dirty and use the recent Clarko allegations as an excuse for him wanting out

absolutely not

we need to be using our picks this year and next. not trading them.
