Maybe you can ask Puma to have a custom design where the sash leans as far left as possible

Or ask for an ‘upgrade’ of the jumper to read ‘albo’ instead of Dutton.

The 2009-10 Droopy sash were the result of putting the sash on the adidas template with the rounded bib thing directly under the collar.
It was a pointless addition which did nothing for the player wearing the jumper.
It only made the jumper an adidas product in Essendon colours.
When they changed the collars the next year they over-compensated with the diagonal line.
Hopefully Puma can find the artwork for the 2007-2008 jumpers which were modelled on the 1985 sash.

No need to Mero, and better that they didn’t find the 07-08 artwork…
In fact, I think the recent and current jumpers (including the 2025 Puma Sash interpretation), are closest to the modelling of the 1985 Sash then the Puma 07-08 ever was, and which was itself starting to get droopy (see pics below…to show not a good copy of the 85 at all), and nowhere near as tight as the 85…so this time, well done Puma.
Also, the Adidas 09-10 rounded bib you speak of (as ridiculous as it was), should not have affected the extent of how extreme they went on the droop, and you can see they didn’t have to do what they did…but they shrewdly put the Adidas logo low and underneath the bib (rather than high, on it, and out of the way), giving them all the more excuse and reason to go right around it, to create a super Sag and droop.
Its as though the Adidas designer was in fact a Carlscum supporter, hell bent on destroying our pride and joy once and for all.
Thought we might not notice, or even care…he was WRONG!

The Puma 07-08 to compare (The sag and droop had already started at this point, and was halfway there)

Then came the Adidas extreme Sagging Droop. Here’s a reminder to all, of how bad that 09-10 droop abomination was…

Drooped so much it nearly touched underneath the armpit.

And below a comparison of the 1985 v Adidas droop v Adidas straight…

Getting it on the hip side and joining there, is the key to a successful yet TIGHT Sash from the shoulder, and something they failed to do with the overcompensated straight diagonal line sash of 2011, and which is why it must be loosened just a touch. They are doing this now , and ever since getting rid of Adidas altogether from 2016.

And here’s the mighty 1993 Baby Bombers jumper for good measure…

The 2025 Puma Perfection…

@benzina is the guru of the sash. The 1993 GF jumper is the greatest Essendon guernsey of all-time. It really should be that hard to replicate that in terms of how the sash sits, etc, but it’s amazing how badly it’s been done over the years, especially by Adidas.

surely this isn’t too much to ask for

Looks good I reckon

I want them to bring back the ‘85 lace up top.

I’ll take the 1996 fake lace-up Essendon Town jumper, provided it comes with the 9 Bewick goals in every game we wear it.

I believe this is the key to the last 20 years, serious

I don’t think we can afford to cop a new ACL in every game, though.

And here’s a proper official photo of our new Puma 2025 jumper for this thread.
Beautiful job Puma, and nice tight Sash from full shoulder to hip side…Well Done!
If only that “Liberty” on the back was reduced in size a little, just enough to not encroach on the Sash, it would have been perfect, but that’s ok, cause its brilliant overall, just the way it should be. Again, well done Puma.

Now they just have to give us an inverted colour Clash jumper like this…

There will be four beautiful Puma jumpers to look forward to this year.

They look great, the only thing i noticed is the collar seems a bit too high in the player photos. I really liked when puma did that yellow collar trim on the Richmond jumper in 2019.

Good that the garbage Under Armour has gone.

This year’s training guernsey design was top notch, though. It’ll be hard to beat that one.

Agreed. If the retail version was actually the same as player issue, I’d have bought one.
