Congratulations Dunlop, a well deserved flag for what was definitely the form team in the back half of the year, great to see you go out on a high, albeit hopefully you do stick around in some capacity. It’s been a great (friendly) rivalry since 2021 and it was a shame I couldn’t get away with a win in the one that mattered.
As for my team, that really stings, two Grand Final losses to Dunners in three seasons with a combined margin of 21 points and some awful luck in both (just one less player out this week would have been lovely!!). It did feel like the inverse of 2021 this time with the underdog seemingly coming from nowhere, it would’ve been nice to square the ledger and walk away with one flag each - I don’t think I’m destined to win this comp with this group, I went all in again to win it and have fallen short so there will be some soul searching for sure in the off-season.

I second the thoughts re Dunners continuing on. It’d be great if the reigning premier stayed around , if only as a coach rather than admin. Either way, all the best for whatever you choose to do, Dunners.

The amount of regret I have for turning down Clarry trades last pre season is… well it’s as big as his nights out apparently
This is the part of the year where I can’t even recall my playing list, let alone consider trade and draft strategy!
Probably best to not go too far with trade discussions.
There are likely to be rule changes as we can’t go on the way we are without Dunlop. Final rules will be determined once DT websites are determined (we’re hoping a decent one pops up early next year).
In the meantime, there will be a survey to get coaches thoughts, but we’re a tad crushed for time.
Aiming to get it out early in November and start sifting through the results to work out what our options are.
There’s probably going to be another one next year.

Just a quick update with what is happening this upcoming season.
Firstly…
@Dunlop and @wezza have said they won’t be returning this season. We thank them both for what they have done for the competition.
@Split_Infinity will be taking on one of the teams, the other is vacant and we will be trying to fill that spot in February once the SuperCoach threads get moving.
@Trotters is going around another season.
There have been no decisions made on what competition platform we use for the coming season. We’re hoping something pops up in February.
We’re also looking for volunteers to help @Allblack and I on the admin group, so if you’re interested just get in touch with one of us.
Lastly, I’ll be sending a PM soon with survey questions. Please take some time over the next week to complete it. This should help us sort out what rules and specifics coaches find of value with the competition and should help us try and get the platform that still keeps some of the individual elements that has made this comp so great.

Thanks Blummers. Survey is complete. One platform I’m considering as a new option is one that is going to be run by Moreiras Magic. The only thing is I’m not sure when it will launch. The stated aim is to pick up the gaps left by UF.
