2024 Fixture (as it is “leaked” out)

Oh they will

They will have Giants round 1. Abd I reckon their first home game (proper round 1) will be against Geelong or the Bulldogs.

The club want us to play them at GHMBA

Hope this season they say no thanks.

Easy for Collingwood to boost their national profile when they’re playing in finals, prelims and GF’s for the last 10+ years. Just a natural extension of being successful really so nothing special or to admire… other than their success

Leave it later in the year and it could be a dead irrelevant contest, impacting crowd. Essendon Vs Hawthorn in round 1 might be a repeat but it’s sure to draw ~70,000.

You don’t need to be successful on field to have a national strategy to connect with your fanbase.

Obviously on field success elevates its success, however it shouldn’t stop them from a national focus as part of its strategic intent to grow its fanbase and membership.

You don’t need to have AFL giving them games or anything. They just need to amplify the interstate games they’re fixtures and build connection around each interstate trip.

Collingwood are so big and successful because of the remarkable life and career of Jock McHale now almost a century ago.

We quickly are squandering any legacy Sheedy may have had.

Hawthorn seem to be fine having had regular hit rates since Kennedy. Solid successful club that will probably win another flag before we do.

There are some bloody soft types here on the Blitz. I have always known it to be so, but here we are weeks away from the fixture being released and some are already ■■■■■■■ and moaning. HTFU

Really? When I think of Collingwood, I don’t think of McHale. I think they’ve got a national presence because they’ve got a good culture and their recent legacy players are just the ultimate professionals. For example, Pendlebury and Sidebottom are just elite role models for any club on a national stage.

Collingwood are due to play at GMBHA this season. All the other clubs have played down there.

Collingwood have been the biggest club since I can remember.

We threatened at the end of the 90s. 98/99/00 most of the largest games were Essendons.

Then we moved to Docklands……

Fark geelong, their reign is over. I hope we play them at Marvel this year and finally put an end to their hold over us

They also give the northern teams a 100 point starting lead, and only count the extra four points for finals purposes and not for draft order purposes.

BFY, TW.

Saw something on Twitter from ■■■■.

Said that Crows are likely going to get a very favourable fixture next season.

Also said that Essendon are looking more likely to play GWS round one for the NSW game. Not Collingwood.

And the club hasn’t been itself ever since. It lost its swagger, presence, scale, national influence and energy. We gave it all to Hawthorn and Collingwood.

NRL launching in Las Vegas, AFL capitalising on NSW/QLD opportunity to launch in growth markets.

Big Victorian clubs involved, part of the launch party. Essendon, still in hiatus.

No, it will be Giants Vs Pies…
